INTRODUCTION

Kuching, Sarawak, International Dance Festival 2010 is the gathering of artists/folk dancers from Malaysia and foreign countries under one common purpose to meet, discuss, have workshops and to perform in the city of Kuching, Sarawak.  Both active participation of dance groups from Malaysia & abroad is crucial in the process of creating a network of mutual cooperation & exchange of cultural & artistic heritage between participants.  Hence, these participants are on their way towards improving their understanding of each others' cultures of different dance groups all under one roof here in Kuching.

OBJECTIVE

1. Provide space and opportunities to local & international artists/dancers to watch, learn & evaluate all kind of dances.

2. Establish link & partnership between cultures among participants.

3. Internationalize the arts & cultures of Sarawakians, Malaysians.

4. Create an industry of culture & thus contribute to national development.

5. Provide an artistic learning ground for the people of Kuching & to raise the standard of performing art in Kuching & Malaysia as a whole.
